DIVE INTO THE RULES
Unveiling the Key Gameplay Mechanics That Define Paradise
Game Flow
A typical game of
PARADISE progresses in rounds, where players take turns activating one of their unactivated miniatures. The objective is to reach 20 Victory Points (VPs) first. The game continues until a player hits 20 VPs and has more points than their opponent, determining the winner.

Drafting Stratagems
• Stratagems provide powerful advantages during the game. At the start, each player draws 9 stratagem cards. Then, they select 2 to keep, discard 1, and pass the remaining 6 cards to the opposing player. This process is repeated twice, so each player ends up with a total of 7 stratagems.
• Miniatures Deployment and Stratagems are key tactical tools that influence gameplay, allowing you to tailor your strategy from the outset.

Range Tools
There are three range tools used for all measurements in PARADISE:
- Range 1 (Blue): Shortest distance
- Range 2 (Purple): Medium distance
- Range 3 (Orange): Longest distance
These tools are essential for measuring movement, attack ranges, cover effects, terrain placement, and scenario objectives.
You may pre-measure distances before declaring actions or effects, but you cannot move a miniature to measure the range and then undo the move. Only non-movement pre-measurements are allowed.
Movement
• To move a miniature:
- Place the range tool with its short edge touching the miniature’s base.
- The tool must not overlap terrain, except if the miniature is climbing (see below).
- The range tool can pass through other miniatures any location where its base touches the range tool.
