Alcuni commenti da chi ha giocato il prototipo:

Actually this is a game without any victory points. You have to fulfill tasks. Whoever gets to finish them first wins. No single VP in this game....



The aim of the game is to complete 12 tasks. I guess you may consicer these tasks to be VPs. But it's not the same. So the tasks tell you what to do and since the game board is modular yu need to "read the green" and then deceide in which order you want to fulfill the tasks. And of course the other players get in your way. Deliver to places you were aiming with your goods. Slay monsters you almost considered already beaten yourself the next turn. And so on. So, yu need to find your way through the game. And be faster than the others.

This is an optimizing game that feels like a race. Well, actually it is a race. But not like with race cars or something. My first impression was that it has a very similar game feel like Istanbul. In Istanbul you need to collect gems in an optimizing game nd be faster than the other players. Istanbul has no VPs, too. You only need to be able to get the gems. It's like a race, too. You get what I am trying to describe?

What is really "Feldian" about Delphi is the way you controll the game. It has a beautiful dice mechanism. You have dice with 6 different colors (so, colors instead of pips or numbers). And the colors are connected to 6 different actions. So your three action dice you roll before one round give you the type of actions you can perform. You place these dice on a circle track on your board (please check the image on the game page, you will easily see what I mean on the player boards). And the way you manipulate your dice is to make further steps on this circle track. So you can change the actions you may perform in this very turn. This feels a bit like a variation in the dice mechanic of Castles of Burgundy. And maybe you know it: I am a huge fan of original dice mechanisms and Castles of Burgundy is a very beloved game of mine. And this game has again a very unique and fascinating dice mechanism!

I like to point out another nice mechanism of the game. On your board you have a ascending track where meeples step up until they reach the top of this track. When they finally reach the top you may perform a special action that is correlated with the color of the meeple. But once you use the meeple to perform the special action, you need to set it back at the start of the track. So it's journey to the top can start again - in order to use this special action again. So you have a number of meeples on your board climbing up that track through the course of the game. And by focusing on certain colors you can try to focus on certain actions. This is another nice idea in this game.

This should be enough to make you want the game. Please note that I am a huge fan of Stefans games and the publisher is a good friend of mine... So I am biased.
