Dopo aver fatto il preordine della ristampa di Specie Dominanti, averlo annullato viste le lungaggini, essere sul punto di ricadere in tentazione visto che è finalmente disponibile, oggi su BGG ho trovato questo in hottness

Chad, is this Dominant species 2.0?

It's a different version of DS; similar but different. Is it better than the original? Everyone who has played it so far has said "yes", but it certainly doesn't obsolete the original game.
Why is it restricted to only 4 players?
Chad Jensen wrote:
Initial testing indicated that this version played best with a 4-player cap. With more players, the math also doesn't work out well with regard to the number of pawns each player gets and the number of action spaces in this version.
And how do the changes translate to game time?

They greatly lessen it. We've been averaging a hair over 2 hours per game, including teaching newbies.
Which reminds me of another nice change from the original. There are 35 "Evolution" cards (the equivalent of the Dominance cards in the original) but only 25 are used in the standard game: the rest are put back in the box, unseen, during setup. This means players can't count on a particular event coming up (Blight anyone?). It also allows for the creation of short and long variants for players wishing to tweak the playing time: the short game uses 20 cards and should run about 90 minutes; the long game uses 30 cards and will run 2.5 hours or more.
